Updating Paperwork

Friday 30, July 2010

There are a few basic documents required for any locum that you may complete. These documents are kept on file at Health 24-7 to eliminate the need for you to resend the same documents for multiple locums. Some of the documents required before you can commence a shift include, (but are not limited to):

  • Detailed CV
  • 3 current professional referees with contact numbers
  • Certified copy of current medical registration that shows the expiry date
  • Certified copy of current medical defence that shows the expiry date and level of cover
  • Certified copy of fellowship certificate, or evidence of fellowship
  • Certified copy of CME (Continuing Medical Education), issued by your relevant College
  • Certified copy of your original medical degree
  • Certified copy of your passport (& any pages showing current visas you require)
  • Certified copy of your drivers license
  • 2 passport photographs (certified on the back)
  • Evidence of Immunisation
  • Evidence of appropriate working visa if required

Please note that a certified copy is one where a Justice of the Peace or Solicitor sites the original document and they have signed the copy stating that it is a true and accurate copy of the original document. All certified copies must be dated within 3 months of application.

These identification and qualification documents are included in your Health 24-7 application pack; however those that expire such as medical registration must be resent to health 24-7 on renewal. It is a good idea to send certified copies of your updated documents to your Health 24-7 consultant as you receive them. This will save time when applying for a shift, and will also help to avoid that last-minute rush.

So remember to fax (+61 2 6372 3996), post  (PO BOX 1100 Mudgee 2850 NSW Australia) or email (info@health247.com.au) a certified copy when you receive updated documents such as your annual registration certificate or on renewing  your drivers licence. Similarly, if you are adding information to your CV after completing a locum, simply send us an updated copy, alternatively please let us know you would like to update your CV and we can maintain this for you. Keeping this information up-to-date will ensure you are able to commit to a shift with relative ease and minimum fuss.
